Abstract

How much is the sea-level rising versus the land subsiding?
To best prepare for ongoing sea-level rise requires local and regional
knowledge of temporal and spatial changes of the coastal land surface as
well as regional sea level change which averages ~3-4 mm/yr (NASA
sea-level portal).
• What is the subsidence rate from Interferometric SAR?
In this highly vegetated region, with rugged topography and extensive
cloud coverage, can we constrain the spatial and temporal variability in
subsidence rates across the Islands?
• Can we use the average subsidence rates and gravimetric data to
estimate the first order rheological behavior of the region?
